Live broadcasting/streaming.

adjective /laɪv/ noun /ˈbrɔːdˌkɑː.stɪŋ/ noun /ˈstriː.mɪŋ/

  1. also called a live transmission, referring to various types of media that are broadcast without a significant delay.

We specialise in live broadcasting/ streaming for schools.

Did you and your school hold a virtual open evening during the COVID-19 lockdowns and school closures? How did they go?

Most of the schools that we work with in one capacity or another used Microsoft Teams or Zoom to hold virtual open evenings or welcome events during 2020/2021. We even attended some of them and here’s what we found:

  • Virtual open evenings have the potential to reach a larger audience.

  • They can be an opportunity to show off parts of your school that would not be possible during a traditional open evening.

  • Most schools do not have the capability to execute a professional live broadcast.

  • As a result, they damage their own reputation and often leave their ‘audience’ questioning the quality of their organisation.

Why do schools need Live Broadcasting?

From open evenings and assemblies to school productions and awards evenings - utilising live broadcasting isn’t just about putting your event on Facebook live.

Our live broadcasting services begin weeks or months before your event. We help schools to organise their events; which teacher will be introducing the school promo VT and from which classroom? Where will the 3 min ‘walk-around’ start? How will the camera operators, audio engineers and subject move through the school without internet drop-out? When will the head’s powerpoint-presentation begin? From which room? And, what are ‘plan b’ and ‘plan c’ for a failed power-point?

When a live broadcast is over, unlike traditional events or the majority of virtual events - it is not now lost forever. Instead, we can make the broadcast into a high quality production in itself. You can then share with more people that were unable to attend the event at the time. This incredibly valuable piece of content can be used all year, until your next open evening. Think how useful that could be.

Broadcasting is really too important to be left to the broadcasters.

How can Company Ten use Live Broadcasting to help my school?

Gone are the days when a single open evening, with a meet-your-tutor-assembly, are the most effective ways to present the school to prospective pupils and their parents. It’s the 21st century and we are all used to ‘on demand tv’, next-day delivery and super fast broadband. We use Live broadcasting to stream open evenings, with interviews and tours, live Q&As and discussions for schools around the UK (think Red Nose Day or sports relief). Parents and pupils are blown away with the technology of Live Broadcasting and the forward thinking nature of presenting an open evening in this way. Let us show you how we do it…
